Royalty Pecan Farms in May | Orchard is greener every day

The trees are growing fuller and greener every day now. This month, pecan pollination should be in full swing.

We’ll start irrigating immediately as the new pecan clusters start developing. We’ll also mow and get rid of the weeds and grass to reduce competition for water.

Since pecan trees need a lot of water during the summer, we want to be sure we’re doing everything we can to keep from wasting that natural resource. Using buried drip (as opposed to above-ground irrigation or flood irrigation) is one way we conserve water and keep our pecan farm sustainable.
