What’s Happening on the Pecan Farm
During February the pecan trees are dormant. Most native plant species are also dormant. This year we’ve been using the dormant season to plant new pecan trees.
In the right conditions, pecan trees can live for centuries. Unfortunately, we’ve lost some trees over the years – most recently because of drought conditions and too much stress. Now that we have the orchard under irrigation, we can help reduce stress on the trees when rainfall is scarce. Click here for more information about planting pecan trees.
