What’s Happening on the Pecan Farm
This month we still have a few more trees to shake before we can finish up the Harvest Season. After we shake the trees and gather up the pecans, we bring them to our Cleaning Plant to be cleaned, sorted, graded, dried, and prepped for sale.
We put our pecans through several sorting and grading processes in order to pick out the cream of the crop. Some pecans are left in the shell, while others are sent to a shelling plant where the meats are completely removed from the shells and turned into pecan halves and pieces ready to eat.
