Whether you come for a couple of hours or spend the whole day, you’ll find plenty to see and do at our third annual Royalty Pecan Harvest Festival on Saturday, November 1st.
While admission and parking are free, some vendors and activities will require money, like shopping in the orchard store and outdoor market, enjoying gourmet food vendors, and taking a guided tour of the orchard. However, there are many ways to have totally free fun at the festival.
We’ll be posting more festival details and updates all month long, but here’s a preview of some FREE activities you can look forward to at this year’s Pecan Harvest Festival:
Take in the Entertainment
Take time to appreciate some great performers, with music by country and folk singer/songwriter Joe Teichman and local bluegrass band Valley Junction. Interested in history? Check out the old fashioned chuck wagon camp and listen to songs and stories by a local Cowboy historian and entertainer presented by K.R. Wood and Camp Cookieville.
Tailgate In Style
We have some entertainment for our football fans as well! All day long, we’ll have a tailgate tent set up where festival visitors can hang out and watch Texas A&M play ULM! This football watch party will be conveniently located near our gourmet food vendors and bar area.
Q&A with the Orchard Manager
Here’s your chance to join in on the conversation with our resident expert, Andy Sherrod. You’ll be able to ask questions and learn more than you ever wanted to know about planting, growing, and harvesting pecans. This event is open to everyone, whether you have your own commercial orchard, one or two yard trees, or no trees at all.
Enter to Win Door Prizes
We’ll be giving out tons of door prizes all day long, thanks to donations from generous local businesses like The Chocolate Gallery, Ace Bolt & Screw, Salata, U Paint It, and more! Anyone can enter, and there’s no purchase necessary, but you must be present to win.
Explore the Kids’ Grove
Visit the kids’ tent and let your creativity flow at the arts and crafts table or participate in some outdoor games.
Enjoy Our Backyard
At Royalty Pecan Farms, there’s plenty of space for kids of all ages to run and play! Bring your own kite or football or just start a friendly game of tag. You can also take a nature walk down to the pecan trees. When you’re ready to take a break, just sit back, relax, breathe in the clean country air, and enjoy the orchard view. Traditional seating will be limited, so feel free to bring your own blankets or camp chairs (and don’t forget the sunscreen!).
Be a Shutterbug
Have your camera ready! With all the natural beauty in this unique orchard setting, Royalty Pecan Farms is a great place to take photos with your family and friends. Photography buffs will also find lots of interesting subjects to shoot, from landscapes to wildlife to still life. If you have any photos to share, please let us know! You can also post pictures directly on our pages and tag @RoyaltyPecanFarms on Facebook or @RoyaltyPecans on Twitter, Foursquare, Pinterest, Google+, and Instagram.
